ANGUS SUPER LEAGUE

THE RULES 2011

The name of the League will be the Angus Super League and hereinafter be represented in the document by the Initials A.S.L.

ANGUS SUPER LEAGUE RULES
The A.S.L. will be governed by the contents of these rules.
The A.S.L. will comply with the constitution of the Angus Darts Association.
Also A.S.L. shall follow the rules and regulations of the Scottish Darts Association and British Darts Organisation.

1. Only teams within the boundaries of Angus will be permitted to play in the A.S.L. unless under special circumstances agreed by the committee and members of the A.G.M.

2. The A.S.L. will be overseen by the Angus Darts Association Committee who will have an elected Super League co-ordinator.

3. All Super League players will be eligible for selection to the Angus County Darts Squad. Super League team captains are entitled to nominate players for consideration by the County Team Managers.

4. All players must read and agree to abide by the rules fully, before signing the team registration form. All players must also sign the green B.D.O. registration form for which a £1 fee must be paid.

5. A player may only register and play for one team and doing so must to be a registered player in that affiliated league. Teams will only be accepted from leagues affiliated to Angus Darts Association.

6. If, on a match night a team wishes to register a player they may do so as long as the Super League Co-ordinator is informed prior to the start of the match.

7. Teams must register a minimum of 12 players with a maximum being set at 18.

8. Affiliated leagues can have more than one super league team.

9. All teams accepted into the A.S.L. will pay a registration fee of £30.
(Only changeable at an A.G.M.)
The fee is payable with league registration entry form.

10. Players registered with other counties may play in the super league.

11. All league fixtures must be fulfilled before the last scheduled league fixture.

12. League Matches must be played on the allocated Super League weekend published on the fixture list. Friday night should be the preferred match night; however team captains can arrange to play on the Saturday or Sunday night over the Super League Weekend.

13. If matches are to be played on Saturday or Sunday then both Captains have to agree to the date at least 7 days prior to the Match. Home team captain must also inform the Super League Co-ordinator.

14. For a scheduled fixture each team will consist of 12 (twelve) players who will play 12 singles games (sets) of 501, best of 5 legs, Straight start, double to finish.
The away team will throw 1st in sets 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 with the home team throwing 1st in sets 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12. The captains will draw player cards to determine the order of play. The Away team Captain will draw the 12 home players first. The draw must be done in time for play to commence at 8.00 p.m. sharp

15. If a team does not have 12 players present to play the fixture on the night then they forfeit the sets that they cannot field a player. If a team is short of players this must be brought to the attention of the opposing captain prior to the draw being made so he can adjust his team to suit. (i.e. pick only 11 players to play.)
All 12 players that are picked to play on the night must be present at the venue for the draw being carried out prior to the start of the match.

16. Home team will mark each match during the fixture ensuring that the computer operator knows how many darts were used to finish a leg. Once the draw for order of play is made then the order of marking can be outlined. It should be approached as follows; the home player drawn to play 12th should mark set 1, thereafter players should mark directly after playing. This will ensure the flow of darts on the night. We would like the A.S.L. to be played in a good spirit, with players taking their turn to mark and operate the computer.

17. The computer scoring system “Darts for Windows” must be used in all A.S.L. matches. Ready to go Angus Super League Databases will be available to download prior to match nights. It will be the home team’s responsibility to ensure a laptop utilising DFW’s is available for use at each match. Home team players must also operate the laptop and ensure the correct scores are entered as thrown. The DFW’s database must be emailed to The Super League Co-ordinator within 48 hours of the end of the match. There will be a fine of £5 for any late databases.

18. Matchboards will be of bristle type & in good condition.
(Winmau Blade III boards as minimum are recommended according to B.D.O. rules.)

19. It will be the responsibility of the home team to ensure that the best of order is given during all matches & any distractions (juke boxes, gaming machines, pool tables, etc) are kept to a bare minimum.

20. Teams winning a league fixture will be awarded 2 points for each match won. In the event of a draw each team will be awarded 1 point. Sets won and Legs for and against will be counted in the event of a tied position in the league.

21. If a team/player wishes to protest against any team/player involved in any match, they must do so in writing & enclose a £10 protest fee. This must reach the Super League Co-ordinator within 7 days of the match being played. Should the protest be upheld the fee will be returned.

22. In the event of a team/player being involved in, or causing actions considered to bring the game of darts into disrepute, that player/team will be subject to disciplinary measures taken against them by the Angus Dart Association Committee.

23. There will be a fine of £10 for any team failing to attend any meeting called.

24. All information from fixtures, results, league tables and player averages will be displayed on the A.S.L. section of the Angus Darts Association website at www.angusravens.co.uk
